X-Ray Detectable OR Towels

It is not uncommon for operating towels to be used in
the body during a surgical procedure. We have found
that many surgeons like to use towels for packing the
viscera while others may use towels during colon
resection's, abdominal aneurysms, transplants,
bariatric procedures, major trauma cases, etc.
Whatever the case, we strongly believe it is in the
best interest of the health care facility and the
patient that a filament be incorporated into the
surgical towel for patient safety purposes. The fact
that towels are typically not counted is another
reason for this added safety feature. The filament we
use in our towel is the same filament currently being
used universally in lap sponges. Keep Patient Safety
